Play-in victory over Heat propels 76ers to No. 7 seed

As long as Joel Embiid is on the court, the Philadelphia 76ers have a chance to go far in the playoffs.

On Wednesday night, the 76ers defeated the Miami Heat 105-104 in the Eastern Conference play-in game

Embiid had a double-double with 23 points and 15 boards, and he set up Kelly Oubre Jr. for the game-winning three-pointer.

In the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, the seventh-seeded 76ers will face the second-seeded New York Knicks

Friday night's late play-in game between Chicago and Atlanta will determine the No. 8 seed; the victor will face the Heat, who advanced to the NBA Finals last season after advancing from the play-in tournament.

The Sixers rallied from a 14-point second-half deficit behind to Embiid's explosive fourth-quarter performance

The Sixers' unlikely second-half surge was ignited by Nicolas Batum and Buddy Hield, but Joel Embiid, who missed 43 games this season, failed to make an impact. Batum scored twenty points.
