Joe Rogan explains why soccer isn't as popular in the US as basketball, baseball, and football.

Many have suggested that soccer isn't widespread in America because the continuous clock limits commercial time and prohibits advertising.

Since they require few breaks, basketball and baseball are the most popular US sports and are widely commercialized.

WSN discovered basketball was the biggest commercial offender. Typically, viewers spend 32% of their time viewing advertising and 36% on the game.

Soccer has the fewest commercials, with supporters spending 86% of their time watching the game.

Soccer fans must watch only 7% of halftime advertising, which leads to Rogan's point.

Rogan thinks American TV isn't ready for a sport without commercials.

He said on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast: “One reason why it's not good for American television is because they don't take breaks.

You need advertisements to fund television, so don't stop saying, 'we'll be right back' or 'we're back with commercials' pizza hut and all that.

He added: "Other sports have timeouts. Sometimes you take rests, but soccer keeps going."

Soccer fans must watch only 7% of halftime advertising, which leads to Rogan's point.
