Ja Morant says the Grizzlies can win the NBA next year: Really, God-willing. If everyone stays healthy.”

Ja Morant made a bold prediction about the Memphis Grizzlies' chances for the upcoming 2024-24 season.

In his departure interview on Monday, the star point guard reaffirmed his belief that they can get to the top of the NBA if availability is favorable.

Aside from Morant's historic handgun controversy, which resulted in a lengthy 25-game league suspension, health has been a major factor for the Grizzlies'

disappointing performance this 2023-24 season. They finished with a 27-55 record in one of the franchise's worst seasons, eliminating them from the NBA postseason picture for the first time since 2020.

Memphis landed at 6-19 when Ja returned from his hiatus. However, after nine games, the organization chose to deactivate the superstar for the rest of the season so he could have right shoulder surgery.

Marcus Smart (finger), Desmond Bane (back), Derrick Rose (groin/back), Santi Aldama (foot), Ziaire Williams (back/hip), and Vince Williams Jr. (knee) have all been placed in the team's recovery chamber and will miss significant amounts of games.

This season, the Grizzlies set numerous forgotten NBA records. They were compelled to use 51 different starting lineups and insert 33 players into each game.

Meanwhile, injuries forced them to recruit 12 hardship players and lose 578 total games due to each player's idleness.
