Ja Morant injury status, key dates, NBA draft

The Memphis Grizzlies' NBA season may be finished, but their job has only just begun. The Grizzlies face a critical offseason as they strive to re-enter Western Conference contention.

Despite a dismal season owing to injury, confidence has not wavered. Memphis' star point guard, Ja Morant, still believes the squad can win a title next season.

But for that to happen, Memphis must make the correct decisions this offseason. The Grizzlies will have limited financial freedom and roster spaces available, so it will require some maneuvering to get the job done.

Forward Lamar Stevens is the only unrestricted free agent on the 15-man roster. The Grizzlies may also face the luxury tax and be on the verge of being a first-apron

team due to major financial decisions on Luke Kennard, a potential first-round pick, and potential trades.

The NBA Draft lottery will be an important event for the Grizzlies for the first time since they surprised the league by landing at No.

2 overall and subsequently picking Morant. Memphis had the sixth-best odds that season

and it is currently seventh this year, with a 7.5% chance of winning first place and a 31.9% chance of finishing in the top four.
