Angel Reese shines at WNBA draft in backless dre

Angel Reese, an LSU basketball star, debuted in the WNBA on Monday night with a hooded statement gown and a sparkly lip grill.

The big picture: The Chicago Sky selected Reese with the seventh overall choice.

LSU coach Kim Mulkey was in New York to cheer on the Bayou Barbie at the sold-out ceremony.

Caitlin Clark was the number one pick. She's going to the Indiana Fever. Here are some photographs from the evening.

Zoom in: Reese, Clark, and other draftees utilized the occasion to make a bold fashion statement.

Reese chose a Bronx and Banco gown from the 2024 collection, according to WWD. Vogue editor Naomi Elizee dressed Reese.

"I got this two days ago," Reese told AP. "My original dress didn't fit." According to the Associated Press, athletes frequently deal directly with designers because their height precludes them from picking something off the rack.

According to Marie Claire, Essence Martin made a unique diamond grill for Reese, while celebrity nail designer Angie Aguirre crafted a 3D French manicure.
